About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Privacy Counsel to join our S&P Global Market Intelligence legal team. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in providing dedicated support to our business stakeholders, focusing on privacy and information security regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop expertise in multiple areas of law to counsel internal clients on business and legal risks throughout the customer relationship.
  • Negotiate, draft, and review various commercial agreements, including data licenses, software licenses, and strategic alliance agreements.
  • Provide legal and business solutions to product, sales, and strategic alliances teams, with a focus on EMEA and Americas.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate business and legal risks related to new products and initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with the Market Intelligence Legal Team, offering strategic and legal insights across different business areas.

Requirements

  • 10+ years' experience as a practicing lawyer/legal counsel, with a background in commercial contracts from a law firm or in-house legal environment.
  • Experience in both privacy and regulatory compliance in technology or financial company.
  • Expertise in GDPR, DORA regulations, AI act, and EBA Outsourcing Guidelines.
  • Proficiency in negotiating and drafting commercial technology, data, and software licensing contracts.
  • Ability to handle complex matters as an escalation point.
  • Familiarity with compliance, intellectual property, and data privacy.
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills.
