Strategic Governance and Compliance Professional

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Governance and Compliance Professional to support the Marshall Aid Commemoration Commission (MACC) in overseeing the prestigious Marshall Scholarships programme.
The MACC is a UK government body that enables young Americans of high ability to study in the UK as Marshall Scholars, benefiting from the country's outstanding postgraduate academic courses while experiencing British culture and values.
Key Responsibilities- Organise plenary meetings of the MACC, including the Audit and Risk Management sub-committee, providing premises for the meetings, drafting agendas, compiling and distributing papers, recording and circulating minutes, and offering governance support as required.
- Ensure compliance with the MACC's Management Statement and Financial Memorandum, agreed with the FCDO, working closely with the Senior Finance Manager to prepare financial documents required by the MACC.
- Draft the MACC's annual business and corporate plans in accordance with MACC priorities and guidelines for Non-Departmental Public Bodies, working closely with the CEO, for approval by the MACC and submission to the FCDO.
- Draft the Commission's Annual Report to Parliament, for submission to the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, and the Annual Accounts, with support from the Senior Finance Manager and Marshall colleagues.
- Liaise with the National Audit Office and other audit or oversight bodies to provide information, facilitate interviews or meetings, and support their enquiries in relation to Marshall finance and activities.
- Review MACC policies annually, advising the MACC on compliance with relevant government policies and initiatives, including Health and Safety and statutory requirements.
- Provide accurate and timely management information, with detailed analysis and trend data, as required by the MACC.
- Board management and administration experience.
- Senior representation experience.
- Stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with financial reporting and accounting standards.
The salary for this role is £38,820 per annum, in addition to benefits including 32 days annual leave, 3 days volunteering leave, and a career-average defined benefit pension scheme.
