BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our Radar Systems Engineering team.

Salary: Up to £62,000 dependent on experience

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of systems engineering concepts and methods, with experience in developing complex radar systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology solutions and contribute to the development of next-generation radar products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create innovative solutions to evolving technological and operational challenges for complex Multi-Function Radar systems.
  • Use a wide range of expertise in systems engineering concepts and methods to provide technical solutions and address engineering problems.
  • Conduct system design analysis to manage trade-offs of system parameters to characterise and specify robust design.
  • Discern and decompose requirements to system and sub-system level and manage these in an approved toolset such as IBM DOORS Next.
  • Be a key technical contributor conducting system development and implementation activities, with internal & customer stakeholder engagement, and mentoring of junior engineering peers.

About You:

  • You will need to have a higher education (or equivalent experience) in a relevant STEM discipline.
  • An appreciation of factors that can affect the real-world performance of sensing systems and how these can impact the accuracy and timeliness of measurements to meet challenging design objectives and requirements.
  • Demonstrates understanding and experience of Systems Engineering which could include knowledge of Systems Engineering standards (e.g., ISO 15288).
