Role Overview:
As the Technical Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, quality, legality, and authenticity of all products manufactured and sold by Sweetdreams Confectionery. You will lead the Technical, Quality, and Health & Safety (H&S) functions, driving our commitment to high standards as we transition into our new facility.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a robust technical strategy, including budgetary controls for the Technical, Quality, and H&S departments, to drive business growth and improvement.
- Audit and Compliance: Lead and manage all internal and external site visits and audits, ensuring continuous compliance with industry standards and regulations across manufacturing, packing, and warehousing.
- Team Management: Oversee the daily operations of the Technical, Quality, and H&S teams, including performance management, appraisals, training, and succession planning, to ensure a high-performing team.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion a culture of 'audit readiness' and continuous improvement in product and process quality, leading the implementation of a Total Quality Management approach across the organization.
- HACCP & Compliance: Maintain ownership of the HACCP and Quality Management system, ensuring compliance with the latest industry requirements and managing new recipe generation, including nutritional analysis, packaging, labeling, and product claims.
- Supplier and Customer Relations: Act as the technical liaison with customers and suppliers, addressing technical queries, managing supplier performance, and mitigating product or supplier risks through technical improvement plans.
