Job Title: Ultrasound Service Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to lead our Ultrasound Service as the Service Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management and future development of Ultrasound services within the Core Clinical Services Care Group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop a team of Sonographers, students, and assistant staff to deliver high-quality Ultrasound services across all sites of the trust.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve service efficiency, responsiveness, and patient satisfaction.
- Liaise with other departments, wards, and external sources to provide a quality service to patients and clinicians.
- Take responsibility for Governance issues within Ultrasound and report clinical and non-clinical incidents in line with Trust and departmental risk management policies.
- Work closely with the Departmental and Care Group Management team to develop an efficient and responsive service.
Requirements:
- Recent experience in leadership and management in a line manager role.
- Keen interest in Ultrasound Service and its development.
- Ability to develop staff skills and develop services in line with new technology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of healthcare services to the community, including General Hospital services, Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and Consultant-led services. The trust operates from three main hospitals and a number of community health care premises.
