Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Machinery Specialist to join our Works department at Wellington College. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our estate's machinery, including two-stroke, petrol, and diesel equipment.

As a key member of our team, you will ensure that all machinery is in good working order and make any necessary repairs or replacements. You will also be responsible for carrying out routine inspections to identify potential issues before they become major problems.

We offer a competitive salary of £41,500 per annum, plus benefits including 33 days annual leave, free lunch while on duty, and subsidised membership to the Wellington Health & Fitness Club.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and repairing machinery, including two-stroke, petrol, and diesel equipment
  • Carrying out routine inspections to identify potential issues
  • Recording repairs and maintenance carried out using the college's online system
  • Helping to manage the stock of consumable products such as oils and filters

Requirements:

  • Full and valid driving license
  • Desirable to have a qualification relevant to the role (e.g. HNC/D in Mechanical Engineering)
  • Experience of working with a variety of machinery
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
