Job Title: HGV Class 1 Night Driver

We are seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team in Carlisle. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for executing depot pulls, customer work, and assisting with loading and unloading at customer sites and in the depot.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute depot pulls, filling the back of a trailer at the depot and transporting it to a hub.
  • Engage in customer work, taking the vehicle to a customer to collect a trailer, delivering it to a hub, and returning to the depot.
  • Assist with loading and unloading at customer sites and in the depot.
  • Perform drop and swap operations, sometimes using a tail lift, and occasionally doing trailer swaps requiring uncoupling the vehicle.
  • Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries.
  • Travel to local sites for a one-off download of the tacho card prior to being put forward for the position.
  • Attend an on-site induction for the first shift.
Requirements:
  • Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
  • Have at least 1 year of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
  • Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
  • No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
  • Less than 12 infringement points.

We offer a competitive hourly rate of £17.20 to £24.44 per hour PAYE and a flexible shift pattern across Monday to Sunday with start times from 12pm to 9pm.
