Job Summary
We're seeking a highly skilled Animal Care Project Manager
Brandon Trust is looking for a dynamic and motivated project leader to join our innovative and supportive team. The successful candidate will lead and manage our Care Farm's animal husbandry project, part of driving forward our mission to support individuals with learning disabilities and autism, and to develop our farming enterprise.
This role requires someone with experience with farm livestock and a passion for the natural world and all its benefits to people. You will be a strategic thinker, with leadership ability, a strong focus on animal welfare, and a drive to make a positive social impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the health and welfare of all farm livestock, including recognizing and appropriately responding to ill health or injury
Coordinate the staff team rota to ensure staffing is in place throughout the year, to include weekends and bank holidays
Keep up to date with legislative changes and comply with notifications in order to effectively manage risks such as TB/avian flu
Provide quantitative and qualitative reports as needed, such as a monthly report to the Care Farm Manager
You will provide leadership and supervision to staff through coaching, supervision, appraisal, and performance management
You will develop and maintain good relationships with other relevant parties, such as farmers, landowners, smallholders and vets
Maintain excellent standards of housekeeping and hygiene across the farm site
You will actively support your Manager and the Trust in the development and implementation of plans to achieve and sustain excellence within your service.
