Help Desk Technician

The Help Desk Technician position at Southeast Community College is a critical role that requires a high level of customer service, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities. As a member of the college's Information Services team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing timely and effective technical support to faculty, staff, and students. This includes troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, creating work orders, and collaborating with other teams to ensure a seamless experience for users.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tier I and limited tier II technical assistance to users via phone, email, and in-person requests.
- Identify, research, and resolve technical problems using help desk software and tools.
- Create work orders to document, track, and escalate issues to ensure a timely resolution.
- Collaborate with other teams to resolve issues and ensure a seamless experience for users.
- Develop and maintain incident logs and self-help materials for user assistance.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in computer science or a related field, or one year of experience in a Call Center/Help Desk environment or other IT-related job.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite and help desk software.
