Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Chemist to join our team at WasteRecruit Ltd. As a Site Chemist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient handling of hazardous waste on our clients' premises.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inspecting loads arriving on site and verifying compliance with transport documents.
2. Segregating chemicals into compatible combinations and packing/labeling for safe onward transport.
3. Working off-site at clients' premises as required, listing/packing, etc.
4. Listing, packaging, and labeling wastes for collection by our drivers.
5. Classifying waste with appropriate EWC codes and assigning ADR labels.
6. Supervising vehicles loading with hazardous materials.
7. Sampling/checking/testing of wastes and storage.
8. Assisting in managing waste stocks and keeping accurate records.
9. Preparing lists for wastes to be transferred off-site to third-party disposal points, liaising with other staff to ensure correct disposal routes.
10. Providing input on pricing for incoming wastes when required.
11. Proficiency in Microsoft applications.

Requirements:

We are looking for a candidate with a degree-level chemistry qualification or equivalent. Experience in handling a diverse range of chemical compounds is essential, along with some understanding of inter-reactions. A clean driving license is mandatory, and the ability to drive a forklift truck would be an advantage.

This role would suit a recent graduate looking for a career in the waste management industry or an individual with existing experience. Full training and support will be provided.
