Job Title: Head of People Services

City Building is a leading construction company in Scotland, providing a wide range of services to clients across the country. We are seeking an experienced Head of People Services to join our Executive Management Team and lead our People Services agenda.

About the Role

The Head of People Services will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive People Services strategy that aligns with our business objectives. This will include:

  1. Providing strategic advice to the Executive Director and Executive Management Team on all people-related matters.
  2. Leading the development of workforce planning strategy and policies that align with strategic and financial planning.
  3. Fostering a high-performance culture that empowers employees, promotes quality, talent development, and productivity.
  4. Collaborating with the People Services team to plan and execute high-impact projects.
  5. Building the leadership capabilities of business area managers and their deputies through coaching and mentoring.
  6. Driving results through collaboration with Executive Management Team colleagues and Senior Management Team.
  7. Championing employee engagement and wellbeing as the lead in the People Services strategy.
  8. Leading the charge on our successful EDI strategy, promoting diversity and inclusion throughout our business.
About You

We are looking for a senior HR professional with a proven track record of HR leadership and strategy development. You will have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a dynamic HR role at a senior level.
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing HR strategy.
  • Experience of workforce planning and driving organizational change and improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others.
  • A solid knowledge of employment legislation, including TUPE regulations.
  • Project management experience.
  • A CIPD qualification is essential.
