About the Role

Cuckmere House, part of the SABDEN Multi Academy Trust, is an 'Outstanding' all-boys SEMH Special school. We strive to create a safe and supportive learning environment that fosters respect, develops resilience, and prepares young males for successful futures.

The successful candidate will support teachers in delivering the curriculum, both by working directly with pupils and assisting in preparation of resources. We are looking for an innovative, enthusiastic, and flexible individual with an interest and knowledge of child development and an understanding of child protection procedures. You will be a role model for our pupils at all times and should be able to demonstrate how you would model expected behaviours.

Our young people have social, emotional, and mental health needs, and therefore, resilience and a good sense of humour would be beneficial. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a sensitive and empathic approach to working with young males. While some experience of working with vulnerable young people is preferable, it is not essential, and appropriate training will be provided for the right candidate.

What We Offer

The working pattern is Monday - Friday, from at least 8.30am - 3.15pm, term time only (working pattern to be discussed at interview and agreed on successful appointment). We offer a friendly and supportive team, with additional benefits, such as free daily lunch.
