Role Overview:We are seeking a Cost Manager / Cost Consultant with strong commercial awareness to join our UK Water teams. As a Cost Consultant, you will work as part of the Cost & Commercial Management team, involved in a wide range of projects from global and high-profile to small and impactful. Your expertise in planning, estimating, budgeting, and managing costs will drive growth and smarter working.
Key Responsibilities:- Supporting the NEC Project Manager in administering post-contract administration of NEC contracts, including assessment of contractual change and payments.
- Supporting suppliers in providing accurate and validated information for Project Cost and Financial Forecasts.
- Providing commercial support, advice, and guidance through all gateways to minimize cost and scope changes throughout the project life cycle.
- Providing contract support, advice, and guidance.
- Procurement support.
- Closing out final accounts for projects varying in value from £100k to £15m.
- Participating in risk and value management meetings as required for the projects.
- In-depth technical knowledge of specialized fields, including construction processes and cost and commercial management in a consultancy setting.
- Good NEC Contract experience with experience in the infrastructure sector.
- Possessing the skills and experience to actively support the internal team and manage more junior staff on projects typically ranging between £100k and £15m.
- Demonstration of self-management and prioritization skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders and third parties.
- Pre and post-contract experience.
- Capable of taking a project through from inception to completion.
- Excellent understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite and in particular Excel.
