Business Development Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Business Controller to join our Finance team at our Liverpool Supply Point. As a Junior Business Controller, you will play a critical role in supporting the Senior Business Controller with managing accounting for materials within the business, while also acting as a business partner to the organization, providing support and analysis to both Finance and non-Finance managers.
Key Responsibilities- Support the business during the planning cycle, including budgeting, forecasting, and period-end close, in relation to material costs.
- Proactively review and analyze operating performance versus plan, identifying risks and opportunities and effectively communicating them to the Senior Business Controller.
- Manage material cost journals and accruals based on knowledge of the business.
- Produce monthly management reports for material costs.
- Calculate cost prices of finished goods and transfer prices.
- Support in costings for trials and new product business cases.
- Support preparation of financial analyses for investment decisions and contribute to site master planning.
- Network with key stakeholders, including PLT, Divisional Controlling, Central Business Services Finance, and Sourcing.
- Represent and replace the Finance Manager during absence.
- Mentor and support team apprentices.
- Degree preferred, with new to an institution or part-qualified accountant, studying CIMA or equivalent.
- Expert MS Excel skills.
- Excellent data management skills, with the ability to handle, manipulate, and merge large, complex data sets.
