Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our Cellular Pathology department at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in histology and cytology procedures, with a minimum of 3 years' experience post-registration.

Key responsibilities include participating in research projects, maintaining professional competencies through Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and upholding industry standards.

Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience:
    • Developed knowledge of histology and cytology procedures
    • Previous experience of laboratory computerization and office applications
    • Use of quality management systems and UKAS accreditation
    • Experience with immunocytochemistry testing
  • Knowledge:
    • Understanding of quality and clinical audits within a cellular pathology service
    • Knowledge of UKAS accreditation and standards
    • Practical understanding of health and safety issues
  • Education and Qualifications:
    • BSc Biomedical Science
    • HCPC Registration
    • IBMS Specialist Portfolio or equivalent
