Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join our dynamic team focused on data science and machine learning. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy machine learning models and applications that drive real-world impact in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute innovative solutions to leverage data in energy trading operations, driving business growth and profitability.
  • Engage with commercial teams to identify opportunities for AI/DS value creation, enhancing our market position and competitiveness.
  • Explore and visualize complex datasets to extract valuable insights, informing strategic business decisions.
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of machine learning systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to ensure solutions meet business objectives, driving operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Integrate ML solutions into existing systems for seamless user experiences, improving data-driven decision-making.
  • Participate in code reviews and drive continuous improvement in team processes, promoting a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Share knowledge to build data and machine learning expertise within the organization, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, with a strong foundation in machine learning and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with ML frameworks, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • 3-5+ years of industry experience in ML model development, with a focus on energy and commodities trading.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

Desired Experience:

  • Background in energy or commodities trading, with a deep understanding of the industry and its challenges.
  • Experience with interactive dashboard integration and use case presentation, with a focus on data visualization and storytelling.
  • Knowledge of ML methodologies and enterprise software development, with a strong understanding of data orchestration and cloud-based ETL/ELT pipelines.
