We are seeking an experienced teacher to join our team at Five Education Recruitment Limited as a Primary School SEND Teacher in the vibrant city of Bristol.

As a SEND Class Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to a small class of primary and occasionally secondary-age children who have been diagnosed with mental health needs (SEMH). Some of the children may also require support with communication and social abilities.

The successful candidate will possess classroom teaching experience and a developed understanding of SEMH-friendly teaching methods. You will be eager to develop your pedagogy by learning more about Mental Health and adapt teaching materials to make lessons outstanding.

The role may suit teachers with previous experience in primary, secondary, or FE settings. We offer comprehensive training and support while working with us. Our school has a supportive staff cohort and excellent facilities, fostering ambition and achievement within every individual.

The successful candidate can expect a salary dependent on experience, ranging from £25,000 to £40,000 per annum, based on the UK national average for similar positions.

To be eligible for this position, candidates must have:

  • Previous classroom teaching experience
  • A valid right to work in the UK (e.g., a valid Visa)
  • At least two recent child-based references and relevant DBS/Police checks
  • Experience of teaching/supporting individuals with SEN/Autism/Complex Needs/SEMH (desirable)

Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Supporting pupils in the classroom to make progress in their education
  • Evidence differentiation in all tasks to ensure accessibility for all students
  • Implementing behavior management tools
  • Teaching the curriculum using existing resources and personal initiative to engage pupils
