Endoscopy Decontamination Technician

We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Decontamination Technician to join our Theatres & Endoscopy team at One Ashford Hospital, Kent.

The successful candidate will assist qualified nurses in caring for patients following surgical, investigative, or medical procedures in line with national guidelines, hospital policies, and best practice standards in the Endoscopy & Theatre setting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participating in admission, recovery, and discharge of endoscopy patients, reporting to qualified staff as directed.
  • Coordinating the use of supplies and equipment during an endoscopy list and in the immediate post-operative phase of care.
  • Preparing, maintaining, cleaning, and disinfecting equipment and procedure rooms.
  • Decontaminating all equipment after each procedure.
  • Providing administrative support as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum GCSE education or equivalent.
  • NVQ or equivalent, Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care preferred.
  • Care Certificate.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ability to learn and develop, undertaking appropriate NVQ or equivalent training.
  • Clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
