Salary: GBP32,000 - GBP40,000

Position: Permanent Full-Time

Job Summary:

Bluetownonline is a well-established digital solutions provider specializing in software development, web applications, and mobile app development. As a mid-level software developer, you will be working on a wide range of projects for various clients across different sectors, from innovative startups to established businesses.

Our company culture emphasizes learning, team support, and exploring new technologies, frameworks, and ways of working. You will be working on projects with varying complexities, tech stacks, and services, requiring someone passionate about coding who can demonstrate their ability to solve complex problems.

This role requires someone who can learn quickly, work autonomously, and make informed technical decisions with support from the project lead. We are seeking someone who is eager to listen and collaborate well with others in the development and project teams.

Most of the team currently works under a fully remote or hybrid working arrangement. Remote or hybrid working arrangements will be discussed with you in the interview process.

Most of the projects you will work on will involve programming using React or React Native JavaScript frameworks on the frontend. On the backend, you will be using PHP frameworks such as Laravel, or occasionally NodeJS, along with SQL to create RESTful APIs and data management systems. Projects are version-controlled using Git.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate your skill level to be that of a mid-level developer
  • Have commercial programming experience
  • Understand MVC programming principles
  • Have experience with an object-oriented backend language (PHP/Laravel desirable)
  • Have experience with a frontend language (JavaScript desirable)
  • Demonstrate ability to solve complex problems
  • Have good working knowledge of SQL and understand database designs
