About the Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially astute Senior Procurement Category Manager to join our team at Marston Holdings Ltd. As a key member of our procurement function, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of high-value categories across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of Category Managers to deliver budgeted cost savings within your categories of spend.
  • Draft, negotiate, and deliver robust and appropriate supplier contracts for your categories.
  • Manage complex supplier relationships and own regular commercial meetings to ensure engagement, alignment, and clear communication.
  • Track, assess, and drive performance improvements, acting as a point for escalations and issues through to resolution.
  • Identify areas for improvement to continually drive results while minimizing risk.
  • Interact with the Transactional Procurement Team to support process improvement, spend transparency, and policy compliance.
  • Implement new systems, processes, and procedures when required, with guidance from the Director of Procurement and in line with Marston Holdings Group policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • A senior-level procurement expert with experience of managing multiple categories of spend.
  • Organized with a keen eye for detail and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Commercially astute and customer-focused, comfortable leading supplier negotiations.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Procurement Category Management within Indirect Procurement.
  • Experience of creating end-to-end category plans and negotiating best commercial agreements in line with business requirements.
  • Strong understanding of contracts and comfortable liaising with legal counsel.
  • Ability to demonstrate a track record of YOY cost savings and value-added initiatives.
  • MCIPS or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a fast-paced Procurement environment managing Indirect categories.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics D365 a plus).
  • Experience managing a remote team.
  • Strong experience managing IT/Technology categories.
