Senior Chef

Avery Healthcare Group Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commis Chef to join their team at Elvy Court Care Home in Sittingbourne, Kent. As a Commis Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality culinary services to residents, ensuring their dietary needs are met, and providing exceptional customer service.

• Assist the Chef de Partie in preparing food and performing basic cooking tasks.
• Work in different areas of the kitchen, such as vegetables, fish and meat, and sauces, usually on a six-month rotation programme.
• Support all chefs to manage and deliver all catering services throughout the home, ensuring resident choice, dignity, confidentiality, and safety are maintained.
• Participate in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss and agree on catering functions across the home and address residents' special needs or dietary requirements.
• Prepare nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the Chefs, promptly and in accordance with agreed mealtimes.
• Prepare special diet meals as needed and as directed by the Chefs.

• Hold a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent.
• Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Have a minimum of 1-year catering experience.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality culinary services to residents.
• Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
