Job Title: Senior Geophysicist

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geophysicist to join our team at Skiez Recruitment. As a key member of our geophysics team, you will be responsible for managing geophysical data processing, interpretation, and reporting. You will also lead junior colleagues and analyze various datasets to interpret seabed conditions and understand practical implications for clients.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Line Management: Lead and manage a team of junior geophysicists, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Developing Processing Workflows: Design and implement efficient processing workflows for geophysical data, ensuring high-quality results and meeting client expectations.
  • Processing and Interpreting SBP Data: Analyze and interpret Side-Scan Sonar (SBP) data to provide valuable insights for clients.
  • Processing Magnetometer Data: Process and interpret magnetometer data to understand seabed conditions and identify potential hazards.
  • Processing Side Scan Sonar Data: Analyze and interpret side-scan sonar data to provide detailed information about seabed topography and features.
  • Quality-Controlling Deliverables: Ensure that all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Real-Time Quality Control: Conduct real-time quality control checks to ensure that data meets client expectations.
  • Liaising with Stakeholders: Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Report Writing: Prepare and present high-quality reports to clients, summarizing key findings and recommendations.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Geoscience or Geophysics: A degree in Geoscience or Geophysics is required for this role.
  • Experience in Sonar, Magnetometer, and Sub-Bottom Sensors: Proven experience in working with sonar, magnetometer, and sub-bottom sensors is essential.
  • Proficiency in Processing Software: Strong proficiency in processing software is required to analyze and interpret geophysical data.
  • Experience in Data Interpretation: Experience in data interpretation and analysis is crucial for this role.
  • 4+ Years of Marine Survey Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in marine survey is required.
  • Computer Literacy: Strong computer literacy skills are essential for this role.
  • Positive and Proactive Nature: A positive and proactive nature is required to work effectively in a team environment.
