City of Westminster, Greater London, United Kingdom Hampshire County Council Full time
Energy Manager Role

As an Energy Manager, you will play a crucial role in securing the best deals for our residents and putting them at the heart of every decision.

The issue of energy usage and billing is a high-profile concern for our residents, who expect and demand correct service charges and value for money. Our work in this area is consistently high-profile, and as a member of our team, you will take responsibility for energy management across our housing stock.

You will work with energy providers, external agencies, and our regeneration teams to ensure our residents receive a first-class service. This will involve dealing with thousands of properties, striving to provide low tariffs for residents, and delivering highly transparent and accurate calculations.

You will handle everything from communal electricity projects to gas and electricity meter mapping, ensuring energy bills are accurate first time, every time. You will also oversee the installation of smart meters and define the billing process for new housing developments, as well as oversee the heating and hot water billing of all residents.

As a collaborative team player, you will balance the needs of multiple projects, champion the resolution of complex problems such as fuel poverty, and work with a wide variety of teams within the organisation. You will have a good understanding of heat networks, metering, and billing, and be able to analyse performance data to manage the performance of our contractors.

You will be an inspirational leader who communicates well both verbally and in writing, with a background in working with residents and residents' groups and investigating complaints. You will have the capacity to identify and resolve problems quickly and understand how financial decisions will impact on our residents.

We are a forward-thinking Council that appreciates people work in different ways. Our staff benefit from working a range of flexible working patterns as well as Agile working. We are a Disability Confident Employer and guarantee an interview if you meet the essential criteria of the job and have declared a disability in your application.
