Principal Hardware Engineer

At Alstom, we are seeking a highly skilled Principal Hardware Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative hardware solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Support the development of product approval processes, software integration, and project delivery, ensuring that our products and tools remain fit for purpose and enable continuous improvement.
  • Design and develop hardware products and systems, including COTS-based solutions, with custom application software, tools, and processes.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in an electronics or electrical engineering discipline.
  • C&G Requirements for Electrical Installations (16th or 17th edition).
  • Proficient in analogue and digital circuit design, including COM carrier board design.
  • Able to design for EMC compliance with sound knowledge of EMC testing.
  • Able to build, specify, and deploy PC-based solutions, including OS deployment and configuration.
  • Able to produce product V&V test specifications and perform testing.
