Senior Practitioner

As a Senior Practitioner – Approved Mental Health Practitioner with SOLIHULL MBC, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the borough's mental health services.
Salary: £58,000 - £68,000 per annum, depending on experience
This challenging and rewarding position involves supporting Solihull's AMHP service, promoting high-quality care, and engaging with health partners to foster multi-agency responses. You will also be responsible for supervising new AMHPs and trainee AMHPs, ensuring they receive comprehensive training and support.
To succeed in this role, you must be passionate about improving the lives of adults with care and support needs and their carers. You will have a professional Social Work Qualification, Social Work England registration, and significant post-qualifying experience in adult social work. Additionally, you will need to hold Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) status and possess extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, such as the Mental Health Act 1983.
You will bring:
- Experience working collaboratively with other agencies and professionals in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- A sound understanding of risk management and evidence-based decision-making.
- The ability to provide expert supervision to other workers, including AMHPs.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
This is an essential car user post due to the demands of the job, and you will require a driving license and own vehicle. We welcome applications from disabled candidates, who will be offered reasonable adjustments where required.
This hybrid working post offers flexibility, with the option for home working alongside office-based working. While there may be some variation in the specific demands of the role, we anticipate a minimum expectation of one day per week in the office based in north Solihull.
