Dam Safety Policy Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk Management Lead - Dam Safety to join our team in the State Government of Victoria, Australia. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for ensuring dam safety risks are systematically identified, assessed, and managed across Victoria's large dams portfolio.

About You:
  • You will have a proven track record in working collaboratively in complex risk management to deliver strategic outcomes.
  • Your outcomes thinking, collaboration, project delivery, and data management skills will enable you to formulate dam safety policy options, manage and lead dam safety projects, and contribute to a best practice dam safety regulatory framework.
  • A thorough understanding of risk management as applied to high consequence, low likelihood events.
Key Responsibilities:

This role offers a dynamic work environment and the chance to make a difference towards the safety and well-being of Victoria's communities. Your duties will include:

  1. Developing and implementing effective dam safety policies and procedures.
  2. Leading dam safety projects and contributing to the development of best practice dam safety regulatory frameworks.
  3. Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and mitigate dam safety risks.
What We Offer:

This is an ongoing position with flexible work arrangements available. You will have access to hybrid work arrangements, including the option to work from home or in our office. We also offer competitive remuneration packages, which includes an estimated salary of $120,000-$150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
