Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our team as a Project Manager. As part of this role, you will be responsible for managing project delivery, technical requirements, and understanding scope of works. You will also assist with commensurate fee agreement with the Civil/Structures Director for each project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate resource allocation relative to each project monthly allowable fee expenditure, defining monthly Civil 3D/CAD requirements and two-weekly engineering workload forecasts.
  • Carry out engineering concept design to detailed design, tender, and contract on-site supervision to completion, ensuring projects are undertaken in accordance with design briefs and that completion deadlines are achieved via frequent design reviews with engineers.
  • Ensure all design projects and reports within the group are technically compliant, to a consistent quality and standard. Maintain regular 'in-house' design reviews and checks.
  • Client and design team liaison, assisting in the preparation of fee proposals, financial control of projects when acting as a project manager, and undertaking business development.
  • Ensure your projects are delivered to budget, programme, and technical standards.
  • Define, control, and monitor design and construction costs on behalf of the Client.
  • Mentor and develop Graduate and Junior Engineers.
  • Monitor contract staff or third-party appointments.
  • Maintain excellent client relationships and contacts to achieve high levels of satisfaction and repeat business. Manage client's expectations and promote a team approach.
Requirements

We require a Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or relevant subject and a minimum of 10 years' experience in designing and managing civil engineering projects within a design consultancy. Chartered or Incorporated Civil Engineer (IEng/CEng MICE) or working towards this is highly advantageous. Excellent presentation and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to undertake computer modelling, organize and direct the production of Civils 3D and CAD/Revit drawings, and correspond effectively with opposite numbers from other disciplines.

This role is based in the United Kingdom, England, London.

Salary

The estimated salary range for this role is £80,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
