Job Title: Technical Architect-Network Analysis

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum (dependent on location and experience)

Job Description:

This role involves developing and implementing cutting-edge broadband and mobile IoT radio access network architectures, driving innovation and advancement in Viasat's technology capabilities.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy high-performing broadband and mobile IoT radio access networks.
  • Apply expertise in 3GPP standards for Terrestrial (TN) and Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) in 5G/6G, driving innovation and advancing Viasat's technology capabilities.
  • Develop and test proof-of-concept network implementations with industry partners to validate system designs and ensure interoperability.
  • Lead procurement processes to select suitable vendors meeting Viasat's performance and deployment requirements.
  • Prioritize and obtain approval for technology investments required to implement the architecture roadmap.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical field, such as Satellite Communications, Telecommunications, Physics, or Computer Science.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in satellite or terrestrial mobile communication systems, preferably with 4G NB-IoT and 4G/5G broadband system design, procurement, and deployment.
  • Proven track record in designing and deploying complex systems, including UE and base station control and data procedures.
  • Theoretical knowledge or hands-on experience in Radio Access Network resource management testing and performance assessment, with understanding of Radio Controller and System Orchestration frameworks.
  • Demonstrable ability to perform RF performance analysis, including intra- and inter-system interference.
