About the Role

Fife Council is seeking a highly skilled Housing Service Coordinator to join its Housing Services Factoring Team. This team plays a vital role in delivering high-quality housing services across Fife.

Job Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will work closely with the Housing Management Team to arrange repairs and maintenance in mixed tenure blocks for communal areas, ensuring timely completion of tasks and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • They will conduct annual block surveys to identify necessary repairs and maintenance, as well as respond promptly to emergency and routine repairs when reported.
  • The candidate will collaborate with partner services to raise accurate works orders, aiming to maximize first-time fixes and minimize variations.
  • They will provide excellent customer care and advice to private owners, landlords, tenants, and other stakeholders, ensuring high-quality housing services that meet legislative standards and council policies.
  • The postholder will be responsible for liaising effectively at all levels internally and externally regarding mutual repairs, working within local communities to deliver information, advice, guidance, and support related to private housing issues.

Requirements

  • A minimum of SCQF level 5 or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, such as Housing or Social Care.
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based environment across Fife, assessing complex information, problems, or situations.
  • Excellent negotiation, time management, and organizational skills, with knowledge of housing policy, practices, and legislation.
  • Customer care skills and experience in assertive case management, partnership working in Council/private sector housing improvement, budget management, and effective communication.
