Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Womenswear Garment Technical Manager to join our team at WYSE London. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in our garments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control: Establish and enforce quality control procedures, conducting regular inspections to identify and address any issues related to garment construction, fit, and finishing.
  • Collaboration with Design Team: Work with the Design team at the start of the season to input into Tech packs to ensure first prototypes come back as close to original requests and new fabrics are reviewed and actions are taken where relevant.
  • Industry Regulations and Sustainability: Stay updated on industry regulations, safety standards, and sustainability requirements, ensuring that all products meet legal and ethical standards.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during the production process, finding innovative solutions to maintain product quality.
  • Manufacturing Process Optimization: Work with the Buying team to optimize manufacturing processes while maintaining quality standards, effectively managing production costs.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain detailed records of technical specifications, patterns, and quality control reports, ensuring accurate and organized documentation.
  • Product Knowledge and Competitor Analysis: Demonstrate an excellent understanding of the WYSE customer and brand handwriting, as well as in-depth product and competitor knowledge.
  • Quality Improvement: Constantly meet and exceed expectations on product fit, performance, and quality.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments of all products from the earliest point of product development, raising and resolving any identified issues.
  • Labelling and Branding: Develop and implement new labelling and branding to align and create a central source for all factories, ensuring all COO are covered.
  • Store and Online Platform Review:
  • Fit Reviews and Returns Reduction: Regularly visit our stores and review the online platform as well as competition to ensure awareness of risks and opportunities, and lead fit reviews to help reduce returns rates.
  • Standardization and Process Improvement: Standardize key blocks with the support of buying and design to increase speed and accuracy when fitting and increase product performance.
  • Testing Requirements and Legislation: Develop and work with buying on testing requirements as the business grows, ensuring all legislation in different countries are adhered to.
  • Liaison with External Teams: Liaise with external teams, including the warehouse to understand and respond to any quality issues and to advise further actions.
  • Returns Data Analysis and Supplier Scorecard Updates: Collate and assess returns data after each phase to create clear lessons learned, and conduct regular supplier scorecard updates to ensure risks and opportunities are highlighted to the wider team.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor the Tech team, providing guidance and training.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a similar role within a premium clothing brand.
  • Education: Degree in Fashion, Textiles, or a related field.
  • Skills: Excellent understanding of garment construction, fit, and finishing, as well as quality control procedures and industry regulations.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
