Defence Data Engineer Opportunity


Empiric Solutions is supporting a central Defence consultancy on a long-term contract opportunity to work on a highly secured programme. The successful candidate will assist across multiple Defence and civil customers to support naval, land, air, and nuclear operations.


This project will be on a 6 months rolling basis and is projected to last for approximately 1-2 years. The candidate will be required to spend 2-3 days onsite in London.


The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in PySpark, Python, GIT, PostgreSQL, SQL, and Apache Airflow. Any experience with Palantir is highly desired.


Active DV and SOLE British Nationality is required for this position.


Please note that this is a highly secured programme, and the successful candidate will need to undergo necessary security checks.



About the Role


This is a unique opportunity to work on a top-secret programme with a central Defence consultancy. The successful candidate will have the chance to work on a variety of Defence and civil projects, gaining valuable experience and skills.


Key Responsibilities



  • Work on a highly secured programme with a central Defence consultancy
  • Assist across multiple Defence and civil customers to support naval, land, air, and nuclear operations
  • Develop and maintain Python scripts using PySpark and Apache Airflow
  • Work closely with the Defence consultancy team to deliver projects on time and to budget
  • Undergo necessary security checks
