Job Summary

This role contributes to Starbucks success by assisting the store manager in executing store operations. The ideal candidate will assist and supervise a team of store partners to create and maintain the Starbucks experience for our customers and partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Supervise partners to ensure they are delivering legendary customer service.
  • Customer Service: Build relationships and deliver legendary customer service by acting with a customer comes first attitude, engaging the customer in conversation, and connecting with them.
  • Communication: Communicate and delegate appropriate responsibilities and practices to store partners to ensure smooth flow of operations and allow consistent delivery of the Starbucks experience.
  • Integrity: Demonstrate integrity, honesty and knowledge to promote the culture, values and mission of Starbucks.
  • Planning and Execution: Plan and execute promotions and other store activities as delegated by store manager.
  • Business Requirements: Participate in the recruitment process and recommend new hires to store manager. Execute store operations during scheduled shifts. Organise opening and closing duties as assigned.
Partner Development
  • Utilise and provide direction to partners on the use of operational tools to achieve operational excellence.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to partners by using discretion in assessing performance, providing feedback and coaching to improve partner performance and ensure operational excellence.
Decision Making Parameters

Manage the day to day issues that occur during a shift. Delegates work to baristas and shift supervisors and deals with any customer complaints issues service recovery coupons to relevant customers.

Works closely with the store manager when reviewing sales/profitability targets. Consults the store manager on all non-routine decisions.
