About The Service

The Education and Lifelong Learning Directorate provides strategic, professional, and operational support to enable the Council to fulfill its responsibilities for early years education, statutory age education, education in school sixth forms, and a youth service.

Cardiff Council has a comprehensive network of 128 schools, comprising 3 nursery schools, 99 primary schools, 18 secondary schools, 7 special schools, and 1 pupil referral unit.

As of January 2023, there are 56,995 learners in Cardiff schools, including 53,715 on a school roll from nursery to National Curriculum Year 11 and 3,280 learners on roll post-16. Additionally, there are 338 learners educated other than at school (EOTAS), 308 pre-16, and 30 post-16.

What We Are Looking For From You

The Education Directorate seeks an experienced, innovative officer to support the transformation of business processes and management information systems. The postholder will provide technical knowledge and expertise to ensure the accuracy of data quality in data collection, storage, and reporting methods.

The successful candidate will work closely with managers, staff, ICT, and schools to ensure and optimize the flow of data accuracy within the central Education Management System to meet service requirements.

The postholder will need to be competent users of databases and reporting tools, be extremely motivated, and be able to identify and resolve problems to deliver positive solutions, as well as having a high level of attention to detail.
