Workshop Technologist

Job Summary:
Crown is seeking a skilled Workshop Engineer to join our team. As a Workshop Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing our forklift trucks and handling equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections and safety checks in accordance with industry regulations.
- Maintain, service, and repair forklift trucks, handling equipment, and plant.
- Complete fault finding and repairs to meet first-fix targets.
- Prepare new equipment for use.
- Source parts from internal or external suppliers.
- Communicate effectively to minimize downtime and achieve first-fix targets.
- Work in accordance with company procedures and current Health and Safety/COSHH regulations.
- Pursue opportunities for personal and team development.
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you will need to have knowledge of at least one of the following areas and be willing to undergo additional training to excel within Crown Lift Trucks Ltd:
- Mechanical engineering
- Electrical engineering
- Hydraulics
Essential Skills:
- Full UK driving license
- Proficient in fault finding and repair
- English and maths GCSE grade C or equivalent
- Experience with Health & Safety requirements in a workshop setting
- Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure
- Clear communication and consultation skills
Desirable Skills:
- Recent experience in forklift truck service environment
- Engineering qualification
