Job Title: Senior Family Worker

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Family Worker to join our Assessment team in Children's Services. As a Senior Family Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing short-term help and support to families, working in a fast-paced environment to assess and address concerns regarding a child or young person's safety or wellbeing.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with families to understand their needs and concerns, and to provide high-quality assessments and interventions to give them the help and support they need to make positive sustained change. You will work collaboratively across Children's Services and with other agencies, partners, and stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for children, young people, and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide short-term help and support to families, working in a fast-paced environment to assess and address concerns regarding a child or young person's safety or wellbeing.
  • Work with families to understand their needs and concerns, and to provide high-quality assessments and interventions to give them the help and support they need to make positive sustained change.
  • Collaborate across Children's Services and with other agencies, partners, and stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for children, young people, and their families.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with families, children, and young people, and with other professionals and agencies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to improve outcomes for children, young people, and their families.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of direct work with children, young people, and their families.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Emotional resilience and the ability to have difficult conversations.
  • A commitment to working collaboratively with families, children, and young people, and with other professionals and agencies.

We offer a competitive salary of up to £31,364 (plus pending pay award), 27 days annual leave per year rising to 32 with 5 years service, and a generous Pension Scheme through the LGPS.
