Fortune Brands Innovations is a leading manufacturer of high-quality products for homes worldwide. We are seeking an experienced Electroplating Technician to join our team in the UK.
As an Electroplating Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining electroplating equipment to apply a variety of finishes to metal components. You will work closely with our production team to ensure consistent quality and adherence to strict specifications.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor and record chemical process parameters.
- Recognise, remedy or report variations on process parameters and investigate causes of variation.
- Produce and maintain work instruction sheets for all processes and operations.
- Conduct regular plant process and procedure audits.
- Carry out routine plant maintenance as required.
- Analyse line chemistry and make additions/adjustments as required.
- Monitor and report internal scrap rates.
- Recognise, rectify or report any trends in rejects and other quality issues.
- Develop quality plans for the plating and inspection of parts and conduct visual and performance checks as required.
- Undertake laboratory analysis as required.
- Liaise with external suppliers regarding maintenance, repair and improvement plans.
- Liaise with others as required and assist in resolving any quality or production issues.
- Experience in electroplating (a plus).
- Understanding of electroplating principles, including bath chemistry, electrical conductivity and metal deposition processes (preferred, but willingness to learn is a plus).
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work precisely to meet tight quality standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality control.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
