Asbestos Manager Job Description

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing asbestos compliance and safety across a range of properties in either the north or south regions. This role requires a strong understanding of Health and Safety legislation and experience in asbestos auditing, surveying, and writing detailed scoping documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on managing asbestos across sites in your region, ensuring every home meets safety and legal requirements.
  • Oversee asbestos audits, inspections, and remediation projects, working closely with contractors to deliver high-quality work.
  • Keep our asbestos register accurate and up-to-date, ensuring all information complies with legal standards.
  • Deliver an annual programme of re-inspections, surveying asbestos conditions in communal areas and buildings.
  • Manage site-specific surveys, risk assessments, and investigations, driving safe outcomes and improvements.
  • Collaborate with your counterpart in the other region, contractors, and teams to maintain asbestos management at the highest level.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience managing asbestos, with qualifications like BOHS P402 and P405 and knowledge of CAR2012.
  • Strong understanding of Health and Safety legislation, and experience applying it in construction and maintenance settings.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, able to work effectively with colleagues, contractors, and customers across your region.
  • Experience in asbestos auditing, surveying, and writing detailed scoping documents.
  • Ability to interpret complex data, and present it clearly through reports, presentations, or action plans.
