About the Opportunity

Lifelancer is seeking a skilled Senior Computational Chemist to join our team in Cambridge, UK. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to contribute to the development of industry-leading software products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and develop new computational chemistry techniques to support the development of scientific software products.
  • Collaborate with scientists and product developers to drive the validation and improvement of new software features.
  • Present research findings at scientific conferences and to Cresset customers worldwide.
  • Work independently on scientific research projects and produce white papers and publications based on these.
  • Test developmental software features in live scenarios and liaise with other Cresset scientists.
  • Regular liaison with Product Management team.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • PhD-level scientist with a background in computational chemistry and/or molecular modelling, ideally in drug discovery or a similar industry.
  • Experience in scientific programming with Python, C, or C++.
  • Strong passion to help develop tools that will enable the design of drugs of the future by advancing our understanding of molecular interactions.
  • Publication of methods research in peer-reviewed journals (desirable).
  • Experience with free energy methods (desirable).

Salary Range

The salary for this position is estimated to be between £60,000 and £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
