Job Summary
The University of Exeter is seeking a highly motivated and organized Research Technician to support a world-leading diabetes and genetics research project. As a key member of a multidisciplinary team, you will facilitate and contribute to the provision of high-quality research projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine molecular techniques, including DNA and RNA isolation, DNA sequencing, and quantitative real-time PCR.
- Ship and order samples and reagents, manage stock, and perform general laboratory administration.
- Design and implement new assays under the direction and supervision of appropriate staff members.
Requirements
- Highly motivated and organized individual with a strong background in molecular biology and laboratory techniques.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to design and implement new assays, with a strong attention to detail and quality control.
