About the Role

We are seeking experienced SEN tutors to provide flexible and rewarding work in Bromley and surrounding areas.

This role involves working with children who have Special Education Needs, providing face-to-face support at their homes or local centres.

  • Creating customized lesson plans that cater to each student's needs.
  • Raising pupils' confidence through effective teaching methods.
  • Managing children with challenging behavior.
  • Possibly participating in outdoor activities such as learning about plants and nature.

Essential requirements include experience working with SEND students and a valid enhanced child workforce DBS.

Key Responsibilities:Education and Support

Student Support: Provide one-on-one support to students with Special Education Needs, tailoring plans to meet their unique requirements.

Taught Expertise: Utilize your teaching expertise to boost pupils' confidence and aid them in overcoming challenges.

Collaborative Approach: Work collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues to understand and address individual needs.

Wellbeing and Safety

Safety First: Prioritize the safety and wellbeing of all students, adhering to our comprehensive safeguarding policies.

Behavior Management: Employ de-escalation techniques and strategies to manage challenging behavior.

Professional Boundaries: Uphold confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries when interacting with students and families.

Requirements

Qualifications: A degree in Special Education Needs (SEN) or a related field is preferred but not essential. We value passion and commitment over specific qualifications.

Experience: You must have prior experience working with students with SEN, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other neurodiverse conditions.

Degree Requirements: While not mandatory, possession of an NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education or similar can be beneficial.
