Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Court of Protection Solicitor to join our team. As a Court of Protection Solicitor, you will be responsible for managing the financial affairs and personal welfare of individuals with limited mental capacity under the jurisdiction of the Court of Protection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the financial affairs of individuals with limited mental capacity
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication channels with clients, their families, and relevant stakeholders
  • Providing support to clients on issues ranging from financial planning and management to care arrangements
  • Liaising with benefits agencies, managing financial matters, and interacting with social services or care providers
  • Serving as a Court of Protection-appointed Professional Deputy
Requirements

The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Proven experience in acting as a Court of Protection-appointed Professional Deputy
  • A track record of collaborating closely with Case Managers, Financial Advisors, and Local Authorities
  • Expertise in Mental Capacity work
  • Ambitious and proactive, with the ability to effectively manage a demanding workload
  • Demonstrated experience in business development and leadership in client matters
  • Proficiency in both collaborative and independent work environments
  • Strong sense of accountability
  • Commercial awareness
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the capability to handle substantial caseloads and projects
