As a Salaried GP at The Lighthouse Medical Practice, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and be part of a dynamic team.

About Us

Our practice is a two-site operation, with one location in central Eastbourne and the other in the suburb of Langney. We are part of a high-performing Primary Care Network (PCN) and currently serve 17,700 patients, with a growing list size. Our medical team comprises 9 GP Partners and 4 Salaried GPs, working alongside a skilled team of paramedics, pharmacists, physiotherapy practitioners, and mental health support workers.

Your Role

As a Salaried GP, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, conducting clinical sessions, and contributing to the overall well-being of our practice. You will work a range of clinical sessions and days, allowing you to take on other portfolio interests. Our practice operates a modern general practice model, enabling us to manage demand safely and efficiently while protecting the wellbeing of our team.

Job Responsibilities
  • Undertake a variety of duties, including surgery face-to-face consultations, telephone and online queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, and dealing with paperwork and correspondence.
  • Make professional, autonomous decisions regarding presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation.
  • Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, develop care plans for health.
  • Provide counselling and health education.
  • Admit or discharge patients to and from the caseload and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
  • Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
  • Collect data for audit purposes.
  • Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
  • Prescribe in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever clinically appropriate.
Salary and Benefits

We offer an attractive salary, estimated to be around £70,000-£90,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to your salary, you can expect:
