We are seeking an experienced Food Safety Specialist to join our dynamic team, responsible for ensuring our products comply with all relevant local regulations across the EU and UK. This role involves managing and reviewing product label manuscripts and artworks, finished product and raw material specifications, and associated documentation to ensure compliance with local food laws, and supporting the launch of new products in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance of product formulas, ingredients, and labels with local regulations.
  • Create and manage Label Specification Sheets, collaborating with technical and marketing teams for innovation, product enhancements, and line extensions.
  • Conduct regulatory reviews of current labels and websites, recommending changes as needed.
  • Evaluate and edit promotional materials for food and food supplements.
Regulatory Guidance and Support:
  • Provide advice on nutrition and health claims for labels and marketing materials.
  • Assist in creating responses to regulatory agencies regarding product information or issues.
  • Secure necessary documentation from government agencies across the EMEA region.
  • Keep updated on changes in the EMEA regulatory environment. Stay abreast of evolving regulatory trends, guidelines, and best practices to drive proactive regulatory strategies.
  • Share regulatory updates and insights with relevant stakeholders to inform strategic direction and decision-making.
New Product Introduction:
  • Support the launch of compliant branded products according to project timelines.
  • Collaborate with contract manufacturers to ensure necessary documentation and compliance evaluations are in place.
  • Provide regulatory guidance to various departments and development teams regarding product design, evaluation, and marketing.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in a Regulatory Affairs role within the food industry.
  • Proven experience working with regional and country-specific regulatory bodies, government agencies, and customs.
  • Knowledge of EU harmonised and non-harmonised areas of food law.
  • Ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse group of people and markets.
  • Strong research, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe products.
  • Fluency in English is essential; a second European language is beneficial.
Additional Requirements:
  • Degree-level education is preferred, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the food industry.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and meeting tight KPIs.
  • Exceptional accuracy, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Attention to detail and ability to proofread with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to think analytically and communicate complex issues clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent oral, written, and IT skills.
