Teaching Assistant Opportunity in Lewisham

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a mainstream secondary school in Lewisham. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons and providing individualized support to students who require additional help.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers in delivering lessons and providing one-on-one support to students.
  • Small Group Sessions: Lead small group activities and interventions to enhance students' learning experiences.
  • Behaviour Management: Help maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment by implementing the school's behaviour management policies.
  • Individualised Support: Work with students with special educational needs (SEN) to ensure they receive the necessary support and accommodations.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assist in assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback to help them improve.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative duties related to classroom preparation and organisation.
Requirements:
  • Previous Child-Based Experience: Prior experience working with children or young adults is essential.
  • DBS on the Update Service: You must possess an Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service or be willing to undergo one before starting the position.
  • Passion for Education: A genuine enthusiasm for education and a desire to make a positive impact on students' lives.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with both students and staff.
