At Fairhurst, we are seeking a highly skilled Principal Bridge Engineer to join our Edinburgh office. This exciting opportunity offers a chance to work on a diverse portfolio of bridge projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, promoting the business and driving project success.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including bridge design calculations, drawings, and specifications, in line with company requirements and national standards.
  • Utilize specialist software, such as MIDAS and Autodesk Structural Bridge Design, for complex bridge modeling and analysis.
  • Lead and assist with project documentation preparation, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Design and develop 3D models using Revit and Civil 3D, enhancing project visualization and collaboration.
  • Solicit feedback from engineering team members, fostering growth and development within the team.
  • Participate in design meetings and site inspections, ensuring seamless project execution.
Requirements:
  • Degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Prior relevant experience, including supervision of large bridge engineering projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in written English.
  • Experience preparing technical deliverables using civil engineering design software packages.
  • Flexible and enthusiastic approach, with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
  • Aptitude for Building Information Modelling and Common Data Environment workflows.

This role offers an attractive salary, circa £65,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive flexible benefits package.
