Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Cardiologist to join its dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the acute and general cardiology service, supervising junior medical staff, and ensuring the professional supervision and management of junior medical staff.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiology and excellent leadership skills. They will be responsible for facilitating delivery of undergraduate teaching, participating in service development and business planning, and covering for colleagues' annual leave and other authorized absences.
The Trust provides a comprehensive range of acute services, supported by an extensive community service offer. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a large team of specialist nurses and contribute to undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education activity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop the acute and general cardiology service.
- Supervise and train junior medical staff, specialist nurses, and research nurses.
- Have responsibility for the cardiology in-patient beds.
- Facilitate delivery of undergraduate teaching as directed by the departmental education lead.
- Participate in service development and business planning in collaboration with other Consultants in the department.
- Cover for colleagues' annual leave and other authorized absences.
- Ensure professional supervision and management of junior medical staff, including adherence to local employment and human resource policies and procedures.
