About the Role:

Galliford Try is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our Environment Business. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and integrating electrical and mechanical engineering packages across a range of water and wastewater treatment projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate technical solutions to ensure compliance with design and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, plan, and coordinate engineering interfaces between individual packages and existing assets, advising project managers and tranche managers.
  • Coordinate the execution of work packages, including procurement, engineering design, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Provide technical assurance of supply chain engineering and coordinate with the engineering team.
  • Liaise with project managers, procurement teams, QS's, and designers to provide timely and efficient work packages for procurement.
  • Understand and implement quality, safety, and environmental policies and targets.
  • Undertake safety inspections and promote safe working and behavioral safety.
  • Provide an effective technical interface with and between design, construction, commissioning teams, and the supply chain.
  • Report on aspects of delivery, including performance and key issues.
  • Comply with change control procedures and deal effectively with technical queries.
  • Ensure early involvement and engagement with commissioning teams.
  • Attend site meetings, quality reviews, and factory acceptance tests.
  • Manage discipline project documentation requirements.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement and lessons learned to improve business improvement.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors.

About You:

  • Demonstrable experience and understanding of managing and working in a similar role.
  • Engineering or technical qualification in a relevant field (HNC minimum or equivalent).
  • Professional accreditation with an industry-related body would be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of engineering principles.
  • Understanding of legislation and standards.
  • Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes or similar engineering industry.
  • Experience of both design and installation stages.
  • Commercial and contractual awareness and working knowledge of NEC conditions of contract.
  • Application of CDM health and safety duties, including understanding and managing design and technical risk.
  • CSCS or equivalent card.
  • Good general IT skills, including software using MS Excel and document management systems.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, with the ability to concisely present information.
  • Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
