Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Auditor to join our Audit Services team, focusing on audits of our global Asset Management activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting internal audits, evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, and providing assurance on risk management frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, identifying potential weaknesses and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in determining audit scope and testing approach, collaborating with the Auditor In Charge and Audit Manager.
  • Apply analytical skills to review information, determine potential control weaknesses, and execute test steps to assess control effectiveness.
  • Document high-quality summaries of findings for review and participate in meetings with business units to communicate audit results.
  • Apply data analytics methods to facilitate risk evaluation and control assessment.
  • Support issue tracking and validation testing of closure of issues.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of the audit services process and provide input to special projects, as assigned.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Northern Trust Audit Methodology and adhere to all applicable department standards.
Requirements
  • Previous audit, risk management, regulatory, or financial industry experience is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of auditing and control principles, as well as relevant college or university qualifications.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with proficiency in MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and MS Excel.
  • Professional certifications, such as CPA, CISA, CIA, ACA, or ACCA, are highly desirable.
