Electromagnetic Compatibility Test EngineerAbout the Role

We are seeking an Electromagnetic Compatibility Test Engineer to join our team at Matchtech Technology. As an EMC Test Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive EMC testing services to various industry sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conducting EMC testing in both screened enclosures and in-situ environments
  2. Maintaining electronic logbooks and collating data
  3. Writing test plans and reports
  4. Developing and evaluating test equipment and methods
  5. Generating test procedures, including photos and measurement uncertainty calculations
  6. Assisting customers during the failure phase of their EMC test programme and offering consultancy
  7. Validating client requirements, which may involve site visits
  8. Supporting the sales team with information for quote generation
  9. Developing expertise in specific areas of testing, including rail, marine, and radio EMC requirements
  10. Providing training to engineers on specialist areas
  11. Participating in continuous improvement projects
Requirements
  1. Qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or recent experience in a practical electrical/electronic engineering role
  2. A self-driven and enthusiastic approach with a focus on high quality
  3. Motivation to learn and develop technical skills
  4. Ability to manage testing alongside reporting
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  6. Flexibility and willingness to work offsite or conduct shift work, as required
  7. Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and bespoke test systems
  8. Possession of a full driving licence and own vehicle to support offsite testing and shift work
Desirable Criteria
  1. Experience in an EMC Test Engineer role within a test house environment
  2. Knowledge and understanding of the EMC Directive and/or relevant EMC test standards
  3. Experience managing test projects from set-up to completion, including the creation of reports
