Chemical Production Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Chemical Production Operator to join our team at Huntsman in Duxford, Cambridge. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating plant equipment and chemical processes to maximize production output while ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate plant machinery to manufacture, fill, and pack products following standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and report any near misses, incidents, or accidents.
- Set up batches, check, weigh, and add materials, and physically move batch materials as required.
- Complete all related documentation accurately and provide suitable handover to on-coming shifts.
- Clean vessels and packing machinery between campaigns to prevent cross-contamination.
- Work collaboratively with the team to meet targets while maintaining quality standards and maximizing efficiency.
- Report plant maintenance work requirements to minimize downtime and costs.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized workstation in line with the 5S approach.
- Identify areas for improvement and cost savings.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical ability.
- GCSE Maths and English, with Chemistry or a technical qualification advantageous.
- Experience in a manufacturing process environment, with chemical industry and automation experience beneficial.
- Forklift Licence or ability to learn.
- Excellent team worker with ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Computer literacy.
- Physically demanding role requiring manual handling and ability to carry/lift various items.
